Happy Birthday to me.

Steps to having an amazing day.
Step 1- Day before your birthday, have an amazingly talented friend to take your family photos.
Step 2- Wake up to these images in your inbox.  Feel beautiful.  Fall in love your kids and husband again.

Step 3- Get your ass whooped with a good workout.  Humble yourself.
Step 4- Go about your daily mom chores.  Run errands, teach homeschool, clean.
Step 5- Drag your kids along to the tire shop and cringe as you spend ungodly amounts of money on your car.
Step 6- Remember to feel grateful about the fact that you can repair your car and you aren't riding a bike.
Step 7- Walk to the park while waiting and watch the kids play.  Watch as they get along for the first time in days, listen to their giggles, sit in the sun and read a book by your favorite author for 2.5 hours.
Step 8- Go home and have not one, but two girlfriends bring over crazy thoughtful gifts.
Step 9- Husband comes home with not one, but two bouquets of flowers and homemade cake, and chocolate covered fruit.
Step 10- count your blessings

March 2014

When I moved to Hawaii, I pictured myself visiting my CA friends often. Space A seems to fly to the west coast regularly, and I am an adventurous mama. I didn't take "life" into account. I didn't take into account my business, kids school, money. I do a pretty good job keeping in touch with all the important people in my life, but February marked two years since I left San Diego and some of the closest friends I have. May will be two years since I have seen any of my Cleveland friends or family. C'est la vie. BUT, this last week, Connie did what all of us moms should do every now and then- left her kids at home and flew out for a week long Hawaii vacation! I was bumming I didn't get to see her kids, but I was SO happy just to see her. We did lots of exploring and adventuring. I am so grateful.

Happily Ever After- (Not Them, Me)

Yesterday got the chance to shoot a wedding on the most amazing beach, whales breaching, turtles coming ashore, and with a friend to top it off. When I think about how my life has taken a 180, I am still in awe at where I am today.
