There are no words for how much love I have for these two clowns.

Dear Carter and Ellie,
Please forget the times that I act like an overwhelmed mom, and remember the times I encouraged you to dance in the rain.
I love you every day.

If the moon stays up until morning one day,
Or a ladybug lands and decides to stay,
Or a little bird sits at your window awhile,
It’s because they’re all hoping to see you smile…

This week I got hired to shoot a wedding at this fancy hotel downtown.  I dropped the kids off at school and went down a little early.  I sat and had breakfast, and gawked at the fancy bathrooms, and felt like a real life grown up for a few minutes.

Chris has been leaving for a week, every two weeks, for a few months now, and our tradition is to go straight from the airport to get frozen yogurt.  I swear it makes me miss him less.  ;)

Hey Chirs, I am all in.

I was downtown waiting for a photoshoot to start, and I watched this elderly couple get in the lagoon.
I got a little sentimental as I watched the wife take her husbands hands, and walk backwards to help him into the water.  There are things about growing old that probably sucks, but I think it will suck less with Chris around.

Carter got in trouble at school yesterday for being a dragon during class.   He also has began referring to himself as "Carter-the-Mighty."

My Louie Girl

Mom take 3

Mom came to visit again. This involved a pedi, Hanauma, the Polynesian Cultural Center, a trip to the zoo, lots of costume buying, and some giggles.

Yes, she is just a mother. Which is sort of like looking at the sky and saying, “hey, it’s just the sun.”

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they'd be asked the "half empty or half full" question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: "How heavy is this glass of water?"

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it's not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn't change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."

She continued, "The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything."

Remember to put the glass down.
