Deployment 2011-take 2.

IMG_3286

Same day, one year later- saying good-bye to the Chucky V again.  But, my Lover will be home in no time.  Well, any time gone is too long, but Sea Duty is coming to an end for us (THANK GOD.)  The sad part for me is watching my Vinson family scatter across the United States.  I am really going to miss the friends I have made here. ♥

I am THANKFUL.

‎No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks.--Saint Ambrose.

I am thankful for little giggles.
And thankful for the alarm clock  patter of little feet that I hear running across the hallway everyday at 0530.
I am thankful for the patience God gave my husband.  How does he put up with me?<
I am thankful for the internet that keeps me in touch with my siblings.  I miss the closeness and automatic friends that I had in them.  I miss the life we had before life got between us.  Before states, time, marriages, and children put space between us.  But I am so thankful that the effort is there, and we remain friends.  I can't wait to see them all online in a couple of hours and laugh as if we are sitting right next to each other on the same family room.
I am thankful to my parents and mother-in-law who keep urging me to fly out for a visit.  I probably will before the big move.
I am thankful to the Navy for providing us with a good life.  A (sometimes) hard life, but GOOD nonetheless.
I am thankful for my camera and my teachers.  I have so much fun with that little box that collects light.

Ellie

See that little thing she does with her hands?  She rolls her skin.  She has done it since she was born.  For the entire first year, 8-12 times I day, I would sit down and nurse her, and watch her roll skin, hers or mine.  "We are still one, me and babe. We are still occupying the same space and breath." The best of my life is wrapped up in that little girl- little fleeting moments.   And wonder as I watch her carve out their own little piece of space and breath.

Carter

I tried to talk to Carter about Thanksgiving today, in three year old terms at least.  After dinner he said, "Mom, I am thankful that you made that for me..."
Coolest. Kid. Ever.
