Do you hear me, I'm talking to you, Across the water across the deep blue ocean, Under the open sky, oh my, baby I'm trying, Boy I hear you in my dreams, I feel your whisper across the sea, I keep you with me in my heart, You make it easier when life gets hard, I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend, Lucky to have been where I have been, Lucky to be coming home again, They don't know how long it takes, Waiting for a love like this, Every time we say goodbye, I wish we had one more kiss, I'll wait for you I promise you, I will, I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend, Lucky to have been where I have been, Lucky to be coming home again, Lucky we're in love every way, Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed, Lucky to be coming home someday, And so I'm sailing through the sea, To an island where we'll meet, You'll hear the music fill the air, I'll put a flower in your hair, Though the breezes through trees, Move so pretty you're all I see, As the world keeps spinning round, You hold me right here right now, I'm lucky I'm in love with my best friend, Lucky to have been where I have been, Lucky to be coming home again
I'm lucky we're in love every way, Lucky to have stayed where we have stayed, Lucky to be coming home someday.

Sweet like candy to my soul:

Sweet you rock:

And sweet you roll.

Rock you.

In the happiest of our childhood memories, our parents were happy, too.

This love...

"It would fold itself into my blood, into my cells, into my DNA. My heart would pump it and my veins would carry it, every moment, all the time."

And so you see, it’s you and me
Together forever and never apart,

Awesome and Awkward

I always feel a little awkward and a little awesome. Just sayin'... So I have decided to start lists of the awesome awkward moments in my life:

Today after we parked the car at home Carter got out and hugged my truck and said, "Thank you for getting me home."

One of the sprinklers broke by my house- I called the housing company to inform them the front was flooding. They fixed it, AND the water pressure to my house! AMAZING!

Ellie snuggles her dolly so close that she wakes up with mini ears imprinted in her cheeks.

My kids new favorite song is Queens, "We Will Rock You," so therefore I listen to it on repeat. All. Day. Long.

My fridge is filled with Chris' favorite beer. Which is awesome because that means he is going to be home soon, and slightly awkward because we don't really drink...

I saw a license plate holder that read, "Nate and Nicki's Big Papa Dick"

Ash's Card 012
Ash's Card 030

Three weeks wrapped up in one post.

So here is the deal with why my blog sucks: because it does.
Yes. My old blog. I loved it. It was cute, and happy, and scrapbook-ey, and started when my baby boy was born and was supposed to last until, I decided to end it.
Ah, but I made a rookie mistake. I used names, I talked about his command, I linked news articles ect ect.
I never broke opsec, but...
Lover is going through a background check for a good position, so I shut down my old blog (and my facebook, OUCH). I am hoping that someday I can just merge the two of the blogs and continue on my merry way but until then I feel uninspired and not into this blogging thing.
I am going to give it a shot because I would hate to deprive my audience of three (technically two because Courtney is signed up under two different names.)

1. Aunt Deb came and spent ten days with us. We squeezed a lot of fun in. Corvette Diner, Coronado Beach, Balboa Park, Hiking to the top of a mountain, pedicures, haircut, laziness, FOOD, Chuck-e-Cheese, ect, ect, ect. (I probably gained five pounds while she was here. <---sadly not joking)

2. After my race last month I ran, and ran, and ran some more. I was on a roll. I actually ran until I fractured my leg. <---again. Sadly not joking.

3. Ladybug made it through the entire month of May without and asthmatic episode. That is huge considering her track record. Well played Lady, well played.

4. Carter has some weird allergic reaction to God only knows what, and has been breaking out in hives from head to toe, and his feet are swelling so bad he can't walk. For three days now. So I have been to the ER at least once, every month this year.

5. It's June. I can't explain to you how happy that makes me. That means Lover is going to be home SOON. I haven't even flipped my calendar because I am in denial. I can't believe in X days I can call myself a Deployment Survivor.

6. Ladybug is talking up a storm. And so is Cart. He doesn't stop talking, and I have to admit- he says some pretty funny stuff:

c: mama, i am hitting my feeling with the pine cone.
me: you mean you are hurting your feelings with the pine cone?
c: no. i am hitting my feeling with the pine cone.
me: you can feel the pine cone hitting you?
c: no mama. my feeling. i am hitting it with the pine cone.
me: your chest carter. this is your chest. you can feel the pine cone hitting your chest.
c: no mama my feeling. i have teeny tiny feelings and you have great big feelings.
(i started to get where we were going at this point.)
me: oh, carter, mommy's chest- that is private. you are just hitting the pine cone on your chest.
c: (getting frustrated with me, lifts his shirt- and points WITH the pine cone instead of his fingers) Mama, look- right here, my teeny tine little feelings!
me: (holding back a laugh) carter, those are your nipples.
c: yes! my nipples. i feel with them.
7. I am ANXIOUSLY awaiting news of Lover's new orders. Well, I have been for a while now. But I feel like we will find out soon. The anticipation is killing me. Like seriously, I don't do well with sitting on the edge of my seat.

8. Finally... DRUMROLL PLEASE... LOVER MADE FIRST! Happy dance, oh yeah! (Allow me to brag) Literally, on his four year anniversary- he made First. ***sigh*** Such a dream man I married...

9. I read a quote that says, "There is only one pretty child in the world, and every mother has it." That is so true- but I have two. As evidence:
