The Coronado Bridge Run

I feel so positive, I kicked butt! I finished the four miles in 46 minutes. My personal goal was 50- so I did even better than I hoped. It was a beautiful view, a good cause- and a real confidence booster. Here are a few pics.
PS Running with 10,000 people in support of the military X days before your husbands big homecoming= exciting!

Hello Monday

Goodbye beautiful weekend, hello Monday.

I have my work cut out for me...

ladybug has already mastered the art of telling you what you want to hear.

*** jumping and dancing on the couch***

me: LB, sit down.
LB: otay (stands right back up)
me: (puts her on the floor) mommy said no jumping on the couch!
LB: sorry (tries to climb back up)
me: no no, are you going to jump?
LB: no... (starts jumping immediately)

Perfect Little Profiles:

"Pretty Eyes"

Everyone knows those lists...the ones that start:

Today, in honor of National Star Wars Day (hey, why not), I introduce:

10 Things TO Say to a Military Wife
  1. Men in uniform look so handsome. You are soooo lucky to be married to a soldier. I bet it's just like being married to Tom Cruise (at least what he was like in the 80s).
  2. You're hired.
  3. Do you need your driveway shoveled?
  4. Flag sweaters are very flattering on you.
  5. I don't know how you do it...but I certainly give you credit for making it look easy. The whole thing must be very hard on your feet. Let's go get a pedicure.
  6. Georgia is the perfect temperature in the spring. You will just love living there...
  7. Alaska is a gorgeous place to live. You will just love living there..
  8. I know a great babysitter...let me give you her number. Better yet, let me watch them.
  9. My husband travels on business and can sometimes be gone for up to a few weeks but I know to compare that to your husband going on a year long deployment would be totally callus and unthoughtful so I won't even mention it.
  10. I bet you go to bed every night very proud of your husband. I know I'm proud of him. And of you. Next round is on me...
(Bonus 10.5: I think it's pretty damn cool that the military caught Osama Bin Laden.)

For the record, I don't need these classes...

Hubster sent me this email the other day:

The day we forgot it was our anniversary:

I think we forgot last year too.
I can't remember.
I guess I am good at forgetting things.
Well in my defense we have two anniversaries- since we eloped and later had a ceremony. We typically celebrate the one on my birthday- that way if we both forget that, then we are just messed up.
Also in my defense, my husband is deployed which equals a get out of jail free card for all holidays. Well, I mean an email would be good.
But I went the whole day and didn't even realize it was our four year wedding anniversary until my mom text me at 8pm. So of course I had to give Hubster shit. **insert evil laugh here**
He tried riding the river of deNile for at least twenty minutes. He even went as low as to say that he sent an email but the ship went "rivercity" and I must not have received it. It was fun watching him squirm.
I put the nail in the coffin when I said the ship was rivercity on the 12th, my time- which would have meant it was already the 13th his time.
He knew he was screwed then.
I amuse myself.
This is the result of boredom/not enough adult interaction.
I came clean and told him I forgot too.
What a bunch of losers!

Preschool Spring Fling:

This was a proud Mommy's dream come true! My very first child's, very first school function. We had an ice-cream social, entertainment, and a raffle (Chooch won a HUGE gift basket!)
Here are the pics and the video:

I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
I'm bringing home a baby bumblebee,
Ouch! It stung me!
I'm squishing up the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
I'm squishing up a baby bumblebee,
Ooh! It's yucky!
I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Won't my mommy be so proud of me,
I'm wiping off the baby bumblebee,
Now my mommy won't be mad at me!

Mother's Day X4

We didn't do anything special. I tried to claim the day as my own lazy day, and stayed in pajamas ALL DAY LONG. Which was perfect. Just what I needed. Probably not what the kids had in mind- but my day= my rules ;P
Chooch gave me my VERY FIRST handmade gift from the kids- he made it in preschool. It is worth every penny of tuition that I pay. It is hanging in my dining room and I LOVE IT (even if it did take me several hours to realize that his fingers are flowers.) <-- HAHAHA

"I'm no model lady. A model's just an imitation of the real thing." -Mae West
And the songbirds are singing,
Like they know the score,
And I love you, I love you, I love you,
Like never before.

My new blog is up and running! I have been blogging since my son was born (2008) but it was time for a fresh start- so here we are!
We have all kinds of exciting things coming up- most importantly a homecoming, so this is the perfect time for new beginnings.
This blog is mainly a scrapbook for my family- add a few pics and a dash of milblogging= In My Life.
