L&S Reunion

Visit from Steph and Mak

Photog 1

I just took mt first photography class at a local adult school. I love it. Here are a few of my faves that I have been practicing with.
My goal is to always stay in manual, and to never edit a photo again.

Women are Angels. And when someone breaks our wings,
we simply continue to fly . . . .on a broomstick.
We are flexible like that

Spring has Sprung

It was one year ago today that I packed up a Uhaul and made a coast to coast trip with my kids and dad.
Today I made a trip to Coronado, and spent the day in my friends back yard in Lakeside. As I drove back from the island I remembered very clearly driving with the Uhaul behind, on the (then foreign) freeway, talking to my dad about how amazing the California wild flowers were. I'm talking every patch of grass, be it fields or feet, covered in wild flowers- my whole 30 minute drive in and out of the island.
Cali has it's ups and downs, but I have to say this is the most beautiful place I have ever lived- this time of year in particular.
While on the island doing groceries we hung out with one of my family's favorite people. Courtney is always up for an adventure, and we LOVE her!

My goal for the week has been to spend tons of time outside, and with the exception of a few hiccups- we have met that goal! My house is dirty, chores have been put off, but as a result- Carter is getting tan lines. Repeat: Carter is getting tan lines! Code: Carter is getting tan lines!
I didn't think that was possible. He have never absorbed even a little bit of sun, regardless of how much time we have spent outside, but times are changing folks.
Everyday I can find a new freckle on that perfect little face his- and I kiss every single one of them.
Today he even got a big boy- REAL haircut, as opposed to the Mom Cut.
Ellie FINALLY got to try on her bathing suit Gramma and Grandpa bought her at the end of last season- my heart nearly exploded from the cuteness. Have I mentioned before that she is my dream come true? Oy Vey.
Today was my Andrea's birthday. I baked her, her favorite Pineapple Upside-down Cake, and spent the afternoon playing with her and the babies. Such a great start to the weekend. Hopefully we succeeded in keeping her mind off of the fact that our husbands are floating somewhere in the world, and her family far away.
Andrea is one of my biggest supporters when it comes to me loving photography, she ALWAYS encourages me to take more pics, and gives me her beautiful baby boy to snap pics of. Today they all played along while I tried a few ideas- I want a redo. I love a few pics, but I need to try a few different settings and recreate.
Without further ado, the Three Amigos.

Whether I'm right or whether I'm wrong
Whether I find a place in this world or never belong
I gotta be me, I've gotta be me
What else can I be but what I am

I want to live, not merely survive
And I won't give up this dream
Of life that keeps me alive
I gotta be me, I gotta be me
The dream that I see makes me what I am

That far-away prize, a world of success
Is waiting for me if I heed the call
I won't settle down, won't settle for less
As long as there's a chance that I can have it all

I'll go it alone, that's how it must be
I can't be right for somebody else
If I'm not right for me
I gotta be free, I've gotta be free
Daring to try, to do it or die
I've gotta be me

I'll go it alone, that's how it must be
I can't be right for somebody else
If I'm not right for me
I gotta be free, I just gotta be free
Daring to try, to do it or die
I gotta be me
